Attack on Titan’s Creator Won’t Start Writing a New Manga


Hajime Isayama reveals that he currently has no plans to write another manga after he started creating Attack on Titan at just 19 in one fell swoop.

A sequel may not be in the future for The attack of the Titans Fans.

@AniNewsAndFacts tweeted a poster to mark the the last season of the anime, with a caption explaining that The attack of the Titans creator Hajime Isayama “currently has no plans” to write another manga. Isayama’s fans supported his decision in the replies section, with most encouraging the author to rest after dedicating his life to the show for 12 years. Some persuaded Isayama and reconstructed the ending for The attack of the Titans.

A show of support led to Isayama’s tears

Isayama made his very first appearance in the United States at an Anime NYC panel on November 19. One fan asked, “Did you know how you wanted to end The attack of the Titans From the very beginning?” Isayama himself expressed his uncertainty on how it ended The attack of the Titans. “I’m still struggling on that,” he said. “I’m really sorry about that.” Despite the massive backlash surrounding the controversial end of The attack of the Titansthe crowd always welcomed Isayama with open arms.

With tears in his eyes, Isayama thanked the audience for their continued support. “Carrying heavy feelings, I was depressed for a long time until yesterday when I met fans at the signing. Fans told me the ending was great and they loved the ending, and that made me happy, and coming to New York was a great experience for me,” he said.

Titan Creator’s Attack Solved Ending Backlash

At only 19 years old, Isayama creates The attack of the Titans as a 65-page one-shot, but changed the story to begin serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2009. The series ended in 2021, but some fans expressed frustration at the ending’s issues with the character development and dramatic changes to protagonist Eren Yeager. Also, the multiple plot holes confused people. Isayama and some staff members had even received death threats during the finale for The attack of the Titans. In May 2021, the mangaka addressed the backlash surrounding the The attack of the Titans end. Isayama revealed his difficulties in drawing the climax. Therefore, he apologized for disappointing fans and even asked them to be nice to him before his appearance at Anime NYC. After the manga ended, Isayama added eight more pages to volume 34.

Before the third part of The attack of the Titansthe fourth and final season of, there was a special event held on November 12, which featured live musical performances and readings from the anime’s voice talent. On the occasion of the event, The attack of the Titans released a new key visual faithful to the manga and brave order character illustrations.

The The attack of the Titans The manga series is available at select retailers and online platforms. The anime adaptation will air its final part of the fourth season in 2023.
