Insecurity: Ishaku denies media publication against FG

Taraba state governor Darius Ishaku on Friday denied an attributed social media post blaming Nigeria’s federal government for neglecting the state’s security situation.

A currently circulating social media post purportedly authored by Governor Ishaku lamented the federal government’s neglect of the security situation in Taraba state.

A statement by Assistant Governor Ishaku on media and publicity Bala Dan Abu said the publication was the work of criminals determined to portray the governor in a bad light and create unnecessary conflict between the governor of the State of Taraba and the Federal Government. .

According to the statement, “The attention of His Excellency Darius Ishaku, Executive Governor of Taraba State, has been drawn to an unsigned statement currently circulating on various social media platforms that he is believed to have made. He was described in the statement as deploring the seemingly helpless security situation in Taraba state and accusing the federal government of neglecting the state’s people.

“Taraba State Governor Arc Darius Ishaku is not the author of said statement and has never authorized anyone to issue such statement on his behalf.

“The declaration is the work of malicious operatives determined to portray the governor in a bad light and bring him into unnecessary conflict and confrontation with the federal government and the country’s security agencies over the security issue.

Governor Ishaku is impressed by the efforts of security agencies so far to secure lives and property in Taraba State and has repeatedly encouraged them with logistical support, the most recent being distribution. from Hilux brand vehicles to all branches of security agencies. as it stands on Monday, December 20, 2021.

“Less than a week ago Governor Ishaku met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa and the two discussed security issues in Taraba State. It is therefore unexpected that Governor Ishaku addresses the media with a statement of this nature to condemn the federal government on the same issue soon after.

“This attempt by the anarchists and agents of destabilization has again failed and Governor Ishaku wishes to congratulate the security agencies of Taraba state on the current peace in the state and urges them not to give in until The state will not be completely free from all forms of insurgency, kidnapping and theft.

“I also wish to urge the good people of Taraba and Nigerians in general to ignore and reject the said statement as a malicious act by enemies of peace and progress in the state.”
