The National Institution for Transformation of India (NITI Aayog) is soliciting ideas and suggestions from scholars, universities and research institutes to adopt a sustainable lifestyle under the LiFE Mission announced by the Prime Minister at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Mission LiFE’s goal is to bring individual behaviors to the forefront of the global climate action narrative.

The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change invites interested applicants from around the world to submit ideas for individuals, households and communities to foster climate-friendly behaviors in various sectors such as water, food, electricity, etc.

The authors of the selected ideas will be invited to present their work at an international conference in India.

Participants from public, academic and private institutions can submit papers as individual authors or in teams of three or fewer. These ideas should provide innovative solutions and promote wider adoption of the climate-friendly application of measures that can be implemented.

The application date for this opened on June 5, 2022 and closes on December 31, 2022. The authors of the top five ideas will have the opportunity to present them in person at the Global LiFE conference in India, $25,000 to pilot and test their idea and the support of NITI Aayog to scale up their idea.

Authors whose ideas are shortlisted in Round I will be notified by email and invited to submit a detailed concept note within 30 days for Round II. Submissions are welcome regardless of the authors’ racial, ethnic, religious and cultural background, gender, sexual orientation or disabilities. Ideas will be evaluated on their originality, analytical rigor and applicability.
