The writer or author of a book follows certain rules or principles in writing the book. And the books are of different types and their goals/perspectives, methodologies, levels, etc. are also different. It is well known that the book explores new knowledge or facts in any branch of discipline or subject. It can be writings on a specified topic/title or in any branch of knowledge. Writing a book depends on the interest of the writer or author in a particular field of knowledge, which represents reality or facts. In the writing of a book, there may be judgments or observations, which must fulfill the conditions or reasons for their validity. And, it can also be pointed out that theories of knowledge explain the different types of knowledge in different forms whether in the field of sciences, arts, literature, humanities, etc. Thus, there has been a continuous increase in the stock of knowledge in the form of books, journals, reports, research articles and other publications or documentation since the “industrial revolution” (a term little used today). hui) which took place in England and Great Britain in the middle of the 18th century. In fact, the books are selected for the purpose of studying at different levels of educational institutions starting from pre or lower levels up to university or its equivalent levels. And at the higher education level, they are complemented by other forms of publications, journals, research papers, etc.
In the case of research papers or research studies, there are certain rules for investigating research problems and finding a solution to them (i.e. research problems). In fact, research rules are followed in universities to conduct the research on a particular “subject or field of study”. Thus, without going into the details of the research system already known, we can dwell briefly on the purposes and objectives of research work in the social sciences carried out in universities. However, it should be stressed that it would not be possible to bring out all the essential aspects of the research in this short article. This article is also not intended to go into the details of research work or research studies, which are the areas of specialization of university and college professors. In fact, no one can go beyond the university rules. And, no researcher can violate any research rules or doctoral rules prescribed for researchers or doctoral students. It is only after having completed all the formalities prescribed in the doctoral regulations that the researcher is declared to hold a doctorate in the discipline concerned.
Now, it is well known that Ph.D. is essential for senior students and post-graduation degree holders for the teaching profession at college and university levels. The diploma is also essential for other teachers who have already joined higher education institutions. Although there are many highly competent and qualified teachers at the time of entry into the teaching profession, PhD holders are basically attracted to the teaching profession in colleges and universities and the said degree is again essential for promotion to higher or higher position. designation in colleges and universities. Doctoral degree holders are also essential in important government departments and other departments for effective government administration and policy-making, as they have acquired the skills of research and investigation. It can however be noted that there is a high profile and a number of political leaders, academics, intellectuals, policy makers, political leaders and experts, public leaders, educated people of different levels, holders of technical diplomas, etc. who have contributed enormously in different fields. of knowledge/disciplines or subjects. And their writings and literature built over a long period of centuries have contributed immensely to the development of knowledge and also to the discovery of new facts of knowledge.
And, doctoral researchers/students also depend on a large number of high quality published works or rare literature or publications written by renowned scholars, intellectuals and writers. Thus, a doctoral researcher used various information or data, literature/material available in the form of books, journals, reports, etc. The researcher also collected information/data from published and unpublished sources for use in his investigation of the research problems and to find a solution to the research problems under investigation. Thus, the researcher also conducted fieldwork to complement and compare his studies with official or other data in the analysis of research work. Thus, the researcher faces many challenges in his research efforts to obtain a Ph.D. In fact, there are a number of technical aspects of the study of the problem which, as we have already pointed out, would not be covered in this limited article.
However, at this stage of the analysis, it would be interesting to note the following key points to understand why a researcher pursues a doctorate and how it is different from a book.
As already stated, research work for obtaining a doctorate is carried out in universities under the guidance of a qualified research guide or research supervisor. In a sense, it is a search or investigation of knowledge in any field that remains unexplored or undiscovered and seeks to find a solution to the research problems under study. Thus, when writing a doctoral thesis, the scholar-scholar carries out a scientific and systematic search for information and knowledge on a specific subject chosen according to the rules of university research. Generally, the researcher or the student-researcher makes a critical review or makes a theoretical review of the existing literature relating to the relevant theories, policies and empirical experiences in order to make a scientific and systematic search for knowledge. In fact, the research study can combine all analytical aspects of relevant theories and policies in the context of empirical experiences (i.e. what actually happens in the field of study). Thus, the research work can be a combination of theories and policies in order to find a solution to the problems. In fact, all research studies are a combination of theory and policy. And, in a sense, it is a combination of both theories and applied aspects in the study of the research topic. Thus, the researcher has to do a lot of work before arriving at realistic conclusions. However, there is a joy in the process of investigation with the discovery of new facts or previously unknown facts in a particular branch of discipline or subjects. Thus, systematic research discovers or deploys a series of useful knowledge that is useful to society as a whole. In fact, the concept of research emphasizes the careful investigation or investigation in the field of a particular discipline or subject, especially through the systematic search for the discovery of new facts or unknown facts. in the search for knowledge in the particular field of study or knowledge. Thus, research efforts are systematically made or undertaken to discover new knowledge or to acquire new knowledge or unknown knowledge. In research, it is necessary to define and redefine research problems, to formulate research objectives, hypotheses or hypotheses, research methodologies and to collect, process and use relevant data. Finally, research conclusions or solutions to research problems can be drawn based on the data from the research study. The hypotheses must also be tested on the basis of the thesis data. And, the different methods of investigation can also be clearly stated in the thesis or research work. The scholar or researcher can verify knowledge and verify the construction of theories based on the data or information used in the thesis. Thus, writing a thesis is a practice done in a given period of time and there is also tension in the research period due to the non-availability of data and information. However, in the search for knowledge in the process of investigation or study, there is also pleasure in analyzing the study and finding solutions to problems. It is also very interesting to formulate a theory and draw conclusions or solutions to problems. Sometimes certain generalizations are also needed to paint a full picture of the research problems. Thus, the purpose of the research problems is to state, analyze the research problems, construct the theories and generalize the facts in further study, and reach or draw conclusions in the form of solutions to research problems. Indeed, there are different types of research that cannot be treated here for lack of space.
Here, a brief observation can be made regarding the past controversy of using data/information on the total geographical area of Manipur obtained at the time of the state merger agreement (i.e. say Manipur). Here, I do not attempt to answer them. Now the question is: is the presence of the state necessary to ban a book? So who will be the arbiter? In fact, the Ph.D. is awarded to a researcher/student according to the rules and regulations of the Ph.D. (To be continued)
