The Rhapsody of Realities, a publication of LoveWorld Publishing Ltd, a daily devotional written by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of The Christ Embassy has become the most translated book in the world, with 7,000 languages.

The publishing house’s director of operations, Pastor (Ms) Lola Aisida, in a press conference yesterday, announced that Pastor Oyakhilome’s daily devotional has been translated into 7,000 languages in the world, including 520 of these languages from Nigeria alone.

She said that 22 years later, LoveWorld Publishing has grown into a vast network of publishers spread across multiple countries, adding that translation work is deployed by a massive army of translators who have applied due diligence processes to deliver Rhapsody of Realities to all 7,000 languages.

“From all points of view, the work of translation is not easy. If that were the case, the popular literary pieces of the world would long ago have been available in all languages. On the contrary, authenticated records show that the most translated short documentary is in eleven translations; the most translated short film has 22 translations; the most translated document, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, produced by the United Nations in 1948, was translated into only 370 languages in 2019.

“And even the most professionally translated acclaimed author in the world, Agatha Christie has her books in just over 100 languages,” said Pastor Aisida.

Intervening on issues related to translation and languages,

Aisida said translation is tedious work, but her company, LoveWorld Publishing, has proven that translating a book into every known language in the world is work that can be done.

She said: “There are 7,139 languages spoken today, but a report indicates that 42% of these languages are endangered. These statistics have posed a global challenge worthy of a global publishing house that transcends shortcomings editorial space.

Pastor Aisida concluded that LoveWorld Publishing will ensure that no language goes away, as Rhapsody of Realities will remain widely distributed month after month in over 7,000 world languages.

Christ Embassy Abuja Zone Pastor Dipo Esho who also spoke about the feat achieved by the publishing house praised Pastor Oyakhilome “for bringing men into the reality of the original purpose for which they were created”, through the book.

He said the ministry will ensure that the book continues to reach all communities in the nations of the world.
