Authors Hopwood DePree and Gillian McAllister will take part in literary events at Preston Waterstones in June and July.

On Tuesday June 21, Hopwood DePree will travel to Preston to discuss his book, ‘Downton Shabby’.
Waterstones said readers were to enjoy a ‘really enjoyable evening’ as Hollywood film producer DePree explains to readers how he bought a crumbling English estate, which was his family’s ancestral home five years ago generations.

The once stately home in Middleton, Manchester, was in desperate need of an update, and after a few glasses of wine and a search for Goole from his Los Angeles home, he bought the property on a whim and has been renovating it for three year.
On Wednesday July 6, Gillian McAllister, bestselling author of The Sunday Times, will talk about her latest novel, ‘Wrong Place, Wrong Time’.
In the book, a mother tries to stop her son from committing a murder she knows he will commit as she wakes up each morning to find herself further in the past.

Waterstones said the genre-bending time-travel novel is a breathtaking read – Ian Ranking described it as “writing a novel of bravery – one of the amazing, original and ingenious that I have read”.
Gillian will be in conversation with fellow thriller writer Lucy Clarke (“The Castaways” and “One of the Girls”).
