Publication ceremony of the journal held at the University of Bangladesh


The publication ceremony of the Bangladesh University Journal (BUJ) was held today (7 August) at the permanent campus of the University of Bangladesh (BU) in Dhaka.

Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) Distinguished Fellow Prof. Dr. Mustafizur Rahman graced the program as a leader while BU Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mesbah Kamal served as Chair.

The program began with a welcome speech by the Editor-in-Chief of the BUJ Editorial Board and Head of the Department of Economics, Prof. Dr. Md Tajul Islam.

He discussed at length the context of the publication of the journal and the standard and the importance of the articles published in this peer-reviewed journal.

Among others Acting Treasurer of BU Kaaamrul Hasan; BU Registrar and BUJ Editorial Board Member Brig Gen Md Mahbubul Haque (retired); Controller of Examinations Prof. Amirul Alam Khan; the author of a paper Nahida Sultana, faculty of the Department of Business Administration and Md Arifin Rahman Khan, assistant professor of the Department of CSE spoke on the occasion.

The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, in his speech highlighted the importance of the journal in a university and how it inspires faculty members young and old to conduct research.

Dissemination of research findings through articles can bring positive change for the benefit of society, he said.

The lead guest highlighted investment in education and called it the best investment.

He also urged all to disseminate the research findings and recommendations to the concerned authorities both private and public for the sake of the welfare of the nation and humanity.

In his speech, the president emphasized that a journal bears the identity of a university.

One of the primary goals of a university is to create new knowledge, and research-based papers help achieve this, he said.

The program was moderated by Head of English Department Sheikh Alauddin.

All heads of departments, faculty members, senior university officials and a large number of students were present at the program.
