The article discusses the role of advocacy in promoting a healthy vision to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals

DALLAS, August 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation (Foundation) is pleased to announce the publication of a peer-reviewed article, The power of advocacy: advancing the vision for all to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the International Journal of Public Health, an independent journal of the Swiss School of Public Health.

The article was written by members of the Vision Impact Institute, which recently joined the Foundation. It explores the case for promoting good vision globally, while making a clear link to many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It draws on a critical review of the literature and offers new perspectives for advocacy to achieve meaningful policy change.

“Evidence-based advocacy is key to making good vision a global priority,” says Eva Lazuka-Nicoulaud, lead author of the paper and Head, Advocacy and Partnerships, Europe/Africa, to the Foundation. “In this article, we expand on the link between good vision and more than half of the SDGs.”
