It’s about to get cheesy in Chesterfield, folks: ‘Weird Al’ comedy singer Yankovic comes to Chesterfield Amphitheater (631 Veterans Place Drive) for his “The Unhappy Return of Ridiculously Self-Indulgent and Misguided Vanity” tour on August 28, 2022.
The tour begins April 23, 2022 and lasts six months across the United States. A press release states that no two shows are the same, each stop on the tour has a different list due to its catalog of fourteen different albums. The show features non-parody material from Weird Al, performing in smaller venues with stripped-back sets for a more intimate setting. This isn’t the first time the comedy singer has opted for smaller gigs. Her last Vanity tour also had the same backdrop.
“I loved doing every incarnation of my show live,” Weird Al said in a press release, “but honestly the Vanity Tour is the most fun I’ve ever had on stage… so I’m dying of it. want to come back there and torture everyone with that again!
Comedy singer Emo Philips will open the show. Spectators will need proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the show to enter.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.chesterfieldamphitheater.com. The seats on the lawn appear to be sold, but the reserved seats are $ 59.50 or $ 89.50. VIP tickets are also available. Doors open at 6.30 p.m. and start of the show at 7.45 p.m.
