You’re here stocks have been hit hard by the current market turmoil, as have most growth stocks given their exposure to rising interest rates. But the stock has held up better than the peer group, easily outperforming industry Zacks Automotive – Domestic over the past year (+2.2% vs -25.7%). The company is banking on the growing popularity of its 3 and Y models.

The Zacks analyst expects shipments to grow about 50% annualized over the next three years. High volumes also help Tesla achieve production efficiencies, bolstering gross margins. Excluding government credits, Tesla’s gross margins hit 30% in the first quarter. This indicates that supply chain issues that hit the business are passed on to the consumer.

Additionally, Tesla’s energy generation and storage revenue outlook is promising. While weak second-quarter deliveries from the Shanghai gigafactory could be a short-term headwind, we expect Tesla to deliver outsized long-term returns thanks to the ramp-up in production and the introduction of new models.

Broadcom Shares have outperformed industry Zacks Electronics – Semiconductors over the past year (+9.2% vs. -5.5%) on strength in the network and server storage segments. Networking is driven by the strong adoption of Broadcom’s next-generation merchant routing and switching solutions by hyperscalers, enterprises and service providers. Mass adoption of its next-generation server storage solutions by hyperscalers is expected to drive revenue growth.

Broadcom expects fiscal third-quarter networking and server storage revenue to grow more than 25% and 60% year-over-year, respectively. The upbeat outlook for the third quarter of fiscal 2022 is encouraging. The recently announced VMware acquisition will help the long-term outlook. Year-to-date, equities have outperformed the industry. However, growing competition, as well as high debt levels, are persistent overhangs.

Anthem shares have outperformed the industry Zacks Medical – HMO over the past year (+26.4% vs. +19.6%). The improvement in the company’s turnover can be attributed to an increase in premium rates and an increase in memberships. Acquisitions and collaborations have enabled the company to accelerate its Medicare Advantage growth and strengthen its business portfolio. Its successful Medicare and Medicaid businesses, coupled with several contract wins, are expected to boost its uptake.

Strong earnings guidance for 2022 bodes well. Its shareholders have approved the name change from Anthem to Elevance Health. Anthem’s consistent dividend payouts and stock buybacks increase shareholder value. However, escalating costs continue to put pressure on Anthem’s results. Its fragile balance sheet with massive debts of nearly $20 billion may affect financial flexibility. As such, the title warrants a cautious stance.
